Lurae Lightner is a lifelong pianist and performer. Passionate about music education, she has taught all ages and levels for over 17 years and has maintained a private piano studio for the past 14 years. She graduated from Malone University in 2020, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Music with piano emphasis. She also completed her Certificate in Piano Pedagogy in the Fall of 2017. She has studied piano performance, pedagogy and jazz composition with professors Yao Lu, Dr. Michael Benson, and Dr. Ballard. During her time at Malone she was an active member in the music community at Malone, she participated in piano and jazz ensembles, and instructed through the University’s music preparatory program. Currently she is an active member of OMTA/MTNA and plans to continue her education in Piano Pedagogy and Jazz studies. Lurae and her husband, Brad, have served many years together in their local church in both children’s and worship ministry. They currently reside in North Canton with their four children.
